All-Time Team – Defensive Tackle

Voting for the All-Time Tiger-Cats presented by CHML AM 900 has expanded to include the top defensive tackles in Black and Gold history. 

The Tiger-Cats have produced an exceptional collection of defensive tackles, and fans are presented with the opportunity to pick the two defensvie tackles that will be placed on the All-Time Tiger-Cats team.

Here are the nominees at defensive tackle:

John Barrow
One of the most decorated football players in CFL history, Barrow was a staple along the defensive line from 1957-1970.  He was selected as an East Division All-Star an incredible 12 times and nomianted as the team’s Most Outstanding Lineman nine times, winning the award in the East Division five times.

Ed Bevan
Bevan’s career in Black and Gold spanned more than 130 games over ten seasons, including four seasons with the Wildcats before the Tiger-Cats merger.  He was selected as an East Division All-Star three times as a defensive tackle, and helped Hamilton take home two Grey Cup titles during his time in Steeltown.

Angelo Mosca
Probably the most recognizable figure in Tiger-Cats fooball, Mosca will go down as one of the most feared defensive linemen in CFL history.  Mosca played in an amazing eight Grey Cups for Hamilton, winning four times.  Mosca was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 1987 after a Tiger-Cats career that spanned 168 games.

Mike Philbrick
Philbrick anchored the TIcats’ defnesive line in the mid-90’s, racking up 33 sacks in 137 games in Black and Gold.  Philbrick was selected as an East Division All-Star three times and nominated as the team’s Most Outstanding Canadian twice.

Mitchell Price
Price collected 29.5 sacks over the 76 games that he played with the Tiger-Cats.  Price helped the team to three Grey Cup berths, winning a championship in 1986.

Vince Scott
Scott played for the Tiger-Cats from 1950-1962, appearing in 158 games over 13 seasons.  During that time he was selected as an East Division All-Star nine times and helped the team bring home two Grey Cup championships.

Mike Walker
Walker was part of a stellar defensve line in Hamilton during the 80’s, amazingly accounting for 81.5 quarterback sacks in 108 games.  Walker was named a CFL All-Star three times over his eight seasons in Black and Gold, and helped the team to four Grey Cup apearances, winning it all in 1986.
