Mosca To Be Inducted As Gridiron Great

CFL/Reebok

In his illustrious CFL career, Angelo Mosca has been no stranger to honours and recognition, however when he is inducted into the Gridiron Greats Hall of Fame it will be a new first for the long-time Tiger-Cat.  When Mosca hears his name called on May 18, he will be the first CFL player ever to receive the distinction.

The Gridiron Greats Hall of Fame was established six years ago by former players Mike Ditka and Gale Sayers, to honour the greatest players in football and to raise money and awareness for the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund.  The fact that Mosca will be the first player from north of the border is a huge honour and is a testament to the impact that he has had on the game of football.

Mosca was nominated by the CFL’s Alumni Association, who he is regularly involved with and has become a vocal supporter of the CFLAA Dire Needs Fund.

Mosca will be honoured at a dinner, along with former NFL players Barry Sanders, Dan Dierdorf and Billy Sims in Novi, Michigan on May 18.  Proceeds from the dinner will go to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, which helps former NFL players who are in dire need of assistance.

The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund provides hands-on assistance and financial aid to help retired NFL players deal with some of the hardships they may encounter after football.
