Former Head Coach Joe Restic Passes Away

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are mourning the loss of former coach Joe Restic, who spent nine years on the Ticats coaching staff including three years as head coach.  

Restic passed away on Saturday in Boston.  He was 85. 

Restic joined the Black and Gold as an assistant coach in 1962 before later becoming offensive coordinator prior to being promoted to head coach in 1968.   Restic compiled a record of 22-17-3 during his three seasons as head coach.

Restic departed Hamilton in 1971 to become the head coach at Harvard University.  At Harvard, he led the Crimson to five Ivy League titles in 23 years.
