Chris Williams Claim's CFL Most Outstanding Rookie Award

TIGER-CATS CHRIS WILLIAMS NAMED CFL’S TOP ROOKIE

Hamilton, Ontario – The Canadian Football League announced today that receiver Chris Williams has been named the league’s Most Outstanding Rookie.  Williams was presented with the award at the CFL Player Awards show at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Williams was an East Division All-Star this season after posting 70 receptions, 1,064 receiving yards, 43 rushing yards and six touchdowns.  

The first-year speedster also asserted himself as a dangerous special teams threat, returning 12 kickoffs for 252 yards and a touchdown as well as twelve punts for 81 yards.

He is the fifth Ticats player to claim the league’s Most Outstanding Rookie award and the first since Mike O’Shea in 1993.
