Hamilton, Ontario — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will help tackle women’s cancer and add two players to the “Wall Of Honour” at halftime on Saturday when they host the B.C. Lions at Ivor Wynne in the final regular season game of the year, presented by Nissan. Kickoff takes place at 7:00 PM.
Both Pete Neumann and Paul Osbaldiston enjoyed storied careers as Hamilton Tiger-Cats and will be celebrated when their names are immortalized on the Wall Of Honour above the south stands.
Peter Neumann had an amazing fourteen-year career as a defensive end with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1951 to 1964. Neumann was a nine-time East Division All-Star, including seven in a row from 1953 to 1959, 1961 and 1964. Neumann was also a CFL All-Star in his final season in 1964 (there were no CFL All-Stars until 1962). Neumann appeared in eight Grey Cups with Hamilton, earning three rings (1953, 1957 and 1963). He was elected to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1979.
Paul Osbaldiston enjoyed a storied 18-year career with the Tiger-Cats from 1986-2003. Osbaldiston was a seven-time East Division All-Star as a kicker and three-time CFL All-Star.
As part of the CFL Pink campaign, the Tiger-Cats will be “tackling women’s cancer” with some special initiatives around the stadium on gameday.
Limited edition pink merchandise including hoodies, hats and T-shirts will be available at locations around the stadium, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
Part of the proceeds from tickets purchased through the HHSF will also be donated to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
Ticats players will also wear special pink equipment during the game to help raise awareness and honour those battling against women’s cancers.
The Ticats will be accepting the donation of a gently used winter coats as part of the Salvation Army’s Coat Drive. Fans that bring a coat to merchandise locations around the stadium will receive a voucher for 25% off of the new Ticats winter jacket at our TigerTown stores or $20.00 off purchases of $50.00 or more.
With Halloween just around the corner, the Ticats are giving fans a chance to begin their trick or treating early at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Saturday. Trick or treaters will be able to visit stations at Brian Timmis and around the stadium before the game to receive some candy courtesy of the Ticats.
