TICATS SIGN MULLINDER, INK BESWICK TO EXTENSION
Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed Canadian defensive lineman Luc Mullinder and re-signed Canadian defensive back Marc Beswick to a contract extension through the 2013 season.
Mullinder, a 6-4, 288-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, recorded 88 tackles and 15 quarterback sacks in eight seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders before being traded to the Montreal Alouettes on August 8. Mullinder was released by the Alouettes on August 22.
Beswick, a 6-1, 198-pound native of Vancouver, British Columbia, currently leads the Ticats with 11 special teams tackles after registering a team-leading 22 in 2010. The Saint Mary’s product signed with the Ticats as a free agent on June 27, 2009 after one season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
In 45 games over four seasons, Beswick has made 53 special teams tackles, five defensive tackles and one fumble recovery.
The Ticats also announced that the team has released non-import defensive lineman Sean Ortiz.
