The Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders have agreed to a trade that will send the first overall pick in the 2010 Draft from Toronto to Saskatchewan.

The Roughriders will also receive the Argos’ second round pick (#8 overall) in exchange for the #2 and #4 overall picks and non-import punter Jamie Boreham.

Argos’ Head Coach Jim Barker said, “We believe this trade puts us in a great position to get not only one but two of our top-rated draft picks plus a proven non-import punter and kicker in Jamie Boreham.  This trade enables us to improve our team immediately and in the future.”

This will be the first time the Roughriders have held the first overall selection in the CFL Canadian Draft since 2001 when they picked defensive lineman Scott Schultz.

In a seperate deal the Argos have traded several picks in Draft with the BC Lions. Toronto acquires the 3rd pick overall, the 3rd pick in the 3rd round (18th overall), the 3rd pick in the 4th round (26th overall) and the 7th pick in the 4th round (30th overall) in exchange for the 4th pick overall, the 5th pick in the 3rd round (20th overall), the 1st pick in the 4th round (24th overall) and the 2nd pick in the 4th round (25th overall).
