VANCOUVER (CFL.ca wire) — The B.C. Lions announced on Wednesday that non-import linebacker Josh Bean, the team’s second round selection (16th overall) in the 2007 Canadian Draft, has signed with the club.
“Josh comes from a very strong program at Boise State and he has all the makings of a very good football player,” said Lions general manager and head coach Wally Buono. “I expect him to add valuable depth to our football club.”
The Calgary native finished his four-year career at Boise State in 2007 after appearing 31 games for the Broncos as a special teams standout and backup linebacker. He racked-up 59 career tackles and appeared in one of U.S. college football’s most memorable games: the 2007 Fiesta Bowl in which Boise State defeated heavily favoured Oklahoma 43-42 in overtime.
