Huskies lose Glavic for Vanier Cup

TORONTO (CP) — The Saint Mary’s Huskies will be without starting quarterback Erik Glavic in Friday’s Vanier Cup.

Head coach Steve Sumarah says the Atlantic Conference MVP has a torn ligament in his left knee. He suffered the injury in last weekend’s win over Laval in the Uteck Bowl.

The Huskies will start backup Ted Abraham against the Manitoba Bisons in Friday’s game, which will decide the Canadian university football champion.

Abraham completed just nine of 19 passes during the regular season for the Huskies.
