
(CFL.ca wire) — The St. Leonard Cougars won their first inter-conference playoff game since 1994 with a 27-24 victory over the Vancouver Island Raiders. The eight-time defending Ontario Football Conference champions now advance to the Canadian Bowl. The Raiders advanced to the Intergold Cup with a 33-27 win over the Okanagan Sun in the British Columbia Football Conference championship game.
The Cougars will meet the victor of Sunday’s Prairie Football Conference final. The Edmonton Wildcats host the Saskatoon Hilltops at Clarke Park at 1 p.m. The winner will earn a berth in the Canadian Bowl against St. Leonard.
