
Bekasiak, Ince headed for training camp in Hamilton
HAMILTON (CFL.ca wire) -– The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Wednesday that the team has signed first round (fourth overall) draft pick J.P. Bekasiak and second round (13th overall) selection Eric Ince.
With the addition of Bekesiak and Ince, eight of the nine players selected by the Ticats in this year’s draft will attend training camp. Robert Pavlovic, Hamilton’s fourth round selection, will return to South Carolina for his final season of NCAA eligibility.
“We are excited to add J.P and Eric to our promising group of Canadian talent,” said Ticats general manager Marcel Desjardins. “We were very pleased with how this year’s draft played out. Bringing eight of the players we selected to camp will go a long way in strengthening our team.”
Bekasiak, a 6-foot-6, 296-pound standout defensive lineman played four seasons at Toledo where he started 22 of 39 games. The Windsor, Ontario native recorded 74 total tackles (22 solo) including 9.5 for 22 yards in losses and 3.5 quarterback sacks.
Ince, a 6-foot-4, 296-pound offensive lineman played four seasons (2003-2006) with the University of Saint Mary’s Huskies. In 25 career games he made 15 starts at left guard and seven at right guard.
