VANCOUVER (CFL.ca wire) — With just days to go before the B.C. Lions hit the field for rookie camp in Abbotsford, B.C., the club announced on Tuesday that all five eligible draft picks have been signed to contracts by the reigning Grey Cup champs.
“Athletic Canadian talent was a big part of our success in 2006 with Jason Pottinger, Ricky Foley, Sebastian Clovis, Rob Pikula and Alexis Bwenge making substantial contributions in their first season,” said Lions general manager and head coach Wally Buono. “I expect the same from these young men.”
Slotback Adam Nicolson, safety Tad Crawford, running back Andre Sadeghian, and offensive linemen Andrew Jones and Kyle Kirkwood were drafted by the Lions in early May and will make their Lions’ debut in a two-day rookie camp slated for Friday and Saturday in Abbotsford.
