Deal or No Deal

Report: Tiger-Cats, Eskimos looking to deal top picks

(CFL.ca wire) — According to a report in the Edmonton Sun, both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Edmonton Eskimos are willing to trade away their top picks prior to Wednesday’s CFL Canadian Draft.

The Ticats hold the first overall pick for the third time in four years, but dealt last year’s top choice to the Eskimos as part of the Jason Maas trade. The speculation is that the club wants to package the deal for a player that will make an immediate impact.

Over the past 10 years, the top pick of the draft has been packaged in a trade four times.

Eskimos director of football operations and head coach Danny Maciocia admitted that his club will consider any offers that may come his way.

“Everything is for sale,” Maciocia told the Edmonton Sun.
