SASKATOON (CIS) — The University of Saskastchewan Huskies football team and head coach Brian Towriss are pleased to announce the commitment of 15 recruits to the 2006 edition of the Green & White. The players were introduced to 1,674 people this morning at the annual Dogs’ Breakfast.
“Certainly with the 2006 recruiting class, we have gone a long ways to fill the holes graduation left,” said Towriss. “We have outstanding players coming in. With eight new faces on defence – Ivan Brown and Chris Masich, as well as three or four outstanding junior players in the secondary – it should allow us to make a smooth transition on defence.”
One of the top recruits was Saskatoon Hilltops quarterback Brett Thompson: “Brett is one of the top junior pivots in all of Canada, leading the Hilltops to national championship victories. He is a proven winner and has great game experience, and is a great student.”
